Meet the Therapist

Kristen L. Bailey

M.A., CCC-SLP

I graduated with a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders in 2003. I received my Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 2004, and maintain a license to practice in the states of Colorado, Missouri, and Alaska.  I have provided and supervised SLP and SLPA services in preschool (ages 3-5), public school (K-12), and University and private clinic settings. I am experienced in conducting in-person and tele practice evaluation and therapy sessions with individuals of all ages.  Professionally, my particular areas of expertise include speech sound disorders, myofunctional therapy, neuro-cognitive assessments and evaluations, school-age expressive and social language skills, apraxia of speech, and use of augmentative/alternative modalities for functional communication. I am a trauma informed educator and I am well versed in trauma and how it impacts speech and language development.  In my free time, I prefer to be running, biking, skiing, weightlifting, and doing van life in the mountains. I also have a deep passion for Bikram style yoga and reading both fiction and non-fiction novels.

  • This practice is a dream come true for me. When I came back from AK I could see the need was endless. The pandemic impacted our littles, from mask wearing, to parental mental health and all the things in between. A rural town with limited services.

We don’t accomplish dreams without support of friends and “family.” Thank you to Kate Bierbaum, Janel Jordy and Jennie Russell for your consistent support. Janel thank you for helping make my logo and website. You gave endless amounts of time and for the finishing of the business name.

Thank you to Lyndsey Stuerman for helping me find all kinds of free stuff for the kiddos and office. Thank you to my 3 private patients, and their families (S and H you two were the absolute best)for giving me the confidence to do this, offering office plants, desks, chairs, and cash pay to get me started. There were lots of doubts.

Thank you to Julie and Shana for all the things! Thank you to the private practice Making Milestones in NYC for allowing me my first private practice experience. Thank you to Meredith Mesquita, Alaskan SLP who allowed me to cover her practice for 6 weeks in Alaska, feeding my drive. Answering SO many questions and truly a mentor and a dynamic SLP.

Thank you to Sara for being a mentor and building a beautiful practice herself, (Colorado Brain Recovery and Colorado Concussion Practice). If this practice grows or doesn’t my mission is to give every “little and big” the opportunity for access to what is a human right, communication.

AND, thank you Grand County from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity and finally allowing the stars to align. The community support has been mind blowing.
